"After reading the reviews (one of the reasons I shop Zappos) and because Zappos allows you to order and return Free shipping, I sent for one pair in my regular size and the other pair one half size larger. Sure enough the reviews were right, between your socks and an orthotic device, the larger is the way to go. I put the shoes on, and on the first time, I could walk well. I, like many other readers, have a condition that can make it difficult to walk with even the best shoes. So I highly recommend these Saconys. Not to mention Zappos marketing!!! Win/Win."

"I had to return these for a 1/2 size larger, because they squished my big toe. I think it's because the toe is more tapered than most athletic shoes. The larger size worked fine, and they are comfy for everyday wear and walking the dog. They are nice looking as well. I would not recommend these for true fitness activities, because they are a bit too squishy. Also, after just a couple of months of wear, the tread has already worn down on part of the sole. But they are comfortable enough for my purpose and I will keep wearing them. Wears this shoe: sporty casual wear"

"I have loved Saucony shoes for such a long time. They fit the arches in my foot perfectly; however, I was pretty disappointed with this shoe. I had two problems. First, they wore out so fast. I've had them no time and they are already quite worn out. Second, they offer no protection whatsoever from water. If I walk in slightly dewy grass for more than just a few steps, my socks get wet. These would be okay in a dry summery climate (if not for wearing out too quickly), but anywhere with rain, or for that matter dew is just unacceptable. Go for the Grid Excursion instead."
